About
us
Magunta Dayakar Creative Institutes have a story to tell. It started
with Magunta Dayakar Creative Painting School 10 years ago. Till
that day, an Art school meant a place where drawing & painting
were taught. In the West, some artists have been conducting Art
classes during the weekends to develop children’s observation
and creativity. But there was no exclusive school to develop children’s
observation, concentration and thinking. Magunta Dayakar dared
to do it without any financial support. All he had was a strong
will and sound knowledge in art, literature, psychology and many
other subjects. Finally he achieved his dream. Today Magunta Dayakar
Creative Painting School has become a notable subject, when people
talk about the Hyderabad city.
The School earned the love of children and parents because of
its unwavering sincerity and commitment to its cause.
Now
Magunta Dayakar has started concentrating in another area. That
is developing Children’s education skills.
Read about this in Dayakar words…
“ Children need to understand whatever they are learning.
Learning with understanding is the key. But today’s education
system is not allowing the children to go to the inner layers
of the subject Then they are not having any knowledge. They are
pushed to get highest marks which will be useless for their future.
I want to do some thing about this. To come out of this situation
children’s education skills should be developed.
With this thinking now the syllabus has been modified towards
‘ Developing education skills.’ Education skills means
‘ Understanding whatever they are reading or doing.’
Once they are able to think about what they are doing or reading,
intelligence or Understanding about their work develops in them.
Finally this leads to self discipline. A person who is having
self discipline can be successful in life even in worst situations.
This is I want to do to children. The experiences of my life can
be helpful to achieve this great thing.’’ |
Today all major schools are moving toward ‘
Visual Education ‘. Because Visual Education will improve Creative
intelligence in Children. But Visual Education needs drawing skills.
Schools could not help much in this area because ‘ Art ‘
is not their prime area and another thing, teaching art to children
is a very difficult thing because it needs a very good understanding
about not only Art but also child psychology.
Magunta Dayakar’s Creative Painting School is the only art school
internationally which specializes in using Drawing to improve children’s
creative intelligence. In the last 10 years many parents experienced
this change in their children in our school.
Teaching art is a sacred act. Every sacred act needs ‘ Concentration
‘ .Through our teaching we are developing ‘ Observation,
Concentration, Memory and Imagination’ in Children. That’s
why in our school even a 3 year old child sits for 2 hours and works
with concentration.
What is an Art - education
school?
The school which uses art not only to make children learn drawing
& painting but also improve their thinking skills. These thinking
skills lead to understanding ability. This ability makes children
to understand their academic subjects without mugging. You call this
‘intelligence.’ Improving intelligence is the main focus
of the Art education school. Magunta Dayakar’s Creative painting
school is the only Art education school internationally.
Why
nowadays children need them?
So much pressure, so much tension ...every child is experiencing today.
Because of school syllabus, competition exams, home work they are
becoming restless. Because of these ,they are losing absorbing capacity.
Due to lack of absorbing capacity they are reaching a position where
they don’t know what they are studying. This is a very dangerous
situation. If our children are not having much thinking ability, what
they will do in their life? Imagine the uncertainties, they have to
face! To come out of this situation they need an Art - education school.
Art
- education school uses Art in a scientific method.
Observation, concentration will come through Drawing & Painting,
if taught through scientific methods. By achieving these skills, Children
will get a third skill also. That third skill is ‘ Struggling
to achieve some thing.’ Once children achieve these three skills
that will lead to ‘ Understanding skills.’ This is the
fourth skill. These skills will make children the best in their education
and their future career also.
To
achieve these 4 important skills, children need 4 important things
to learn art.
( 1 ) Learning art must be fun - They need a positive environment,
where they should feel learning art is fun.
( 2 ) Institute must know child psychology - The institute should
know what it has to do to teach children art. Because Children won’t
like any kind of teaching. Thats why teaching art is not easy. For
that institute must know child psychology.
( 3 ) The teachers must love their job - This is very important thing
in teaching, especially with children. Teachers should not think that
they are doing a job. To them it should be a personal involvement.
They should be in a mindset of enjoying the children’s improvement
in learning art. Otherwise teaching art will be a fruitless effort.
( 4 ) Tough task - Children’s art looks very simple. Easy. But
making them to understand the art is a tough task. For that, institute
needs a sound knowledge of art. Then only it will be able to make
children best in the art. Making them best in the art means making
them good at ‘ Understanding skills ‘ which will be helpful
to them in their education and their careers.
Magunta Dayakar’s Creative Painting School is the only art school
internationally which specialized in these areas.
Art
of Thinking through Drawing & Painting
Thinking is character.
When a child has a habit of thinking, he can become successful in
his education, career and in life also. But thinking is a rare habit,
not only for children but also for most of the people.
Just think... do we think even five minutes a week?
We do things without thinking. Because we have become used to do those
things through habit by years of tuning since our childhood. We don’t
think about the things, we do every day. That’s why whenever
a problem arises we will be in anxiety, tension and confusion.
Why we will be in this state of mind?
Because when a problem arises we have to think to solve it. But the
problem is we are not used to the act of ‘Thinking’. Thinking
is the key to everything. It will give us confidence, intelligence
and moreover courage to survive even in the worst situations. Don’t
you think your children need it?
Magunta Dayakar’s Creative Painting School is doing this great
service to children of age 3 years and above, through it’s newly
introduced syllabus of Drawing & Painting.
Some
misconceptions about Children’s Drawing & Painting
On Color
1. Color should not come outside the shape. It should be inside of
the picture.
This thinking is not correct. The great Artists of all time never
did this. In reality they followed the opposite way. The reason is,
when color goes a little bit outside the shape or picture, it will
achieve a unifying effect. Seeing the thing as a whole is the key
thing for vision.
Some parents are saying to me, some of the schools are demanding children
to color only inside the shape or picture neatly. Only one thing I
am able to say in this regard , “ignore them ...”. Otherwise
it will kill your children’s creativity.
2 Color has to be applied evenly in an orderly way with out
patches.
This is not right. This kind of thinking comes out of ignorance. When
you apply paint evenly It will lose 3 dimensional effect. That means
depth. A flat area of canvas in a painting won’t have any depth.
With out depth, in the painting your eye won’t penetrate layers
of color. Then where is creativity?
3. Color should be applied with a directional movement.
Yes ! Color has to apply in a directional movement. Then it will create
the rhythm in painting. But…is it possible for children to work
with such an understanding and professional maturity? Some times even
professional artists stumble in creating rhythm. Then how is it possible
for children? Expecting too much from them will lead to killing their
spirits.
And another practical truth is this kind of order or directional movement
will come to artists only by years of practice. And moreover this
needs age and maturity. Apart from this, artists should not try for
this order or directional movement. It will come naturally with abundant
practice.
We should leave children for their pleasure of practicing the painting
4. Do children paint like elders?
No way it’s possible! Children can draw, because it will be
possible through observation and right way of practice. But…
to paint, they need more strength in mind. It will come to them by
age. Till that day ‘Children are Children!’
Because of this reason there are no child prodigies in art.
On Drawing
5. My child could not draw properly from imagination.
Here parents have to understand about imagination, memory and the
difference between them.
Imagination is thinking about something which is not visible. It is
one step short of creativity. Children can imagine things very powerfully.
But they are not able to present what they imagine well. To do that
they need technical skills, which they can achieve through practice
only.
Memory Drawing is different. Many people have misunderstood memory
as imagination. If you have to draw some thing, you should have drawn
it many times in the past. Then only you are able to draw the pictures
similar to the picture. This is called “ memory drawing”
not “ imaginative drawing”.
6.My child should draw better than this.
Most of the parents feel this way. In reality drawing is a method
about “how to use a line and a curve”. A Line and a Curve…from
these two symbols you can construct any picture in this universe.
To do that, you have to change your way of thinking. Then you can
draw any picture beautifully. That why drawing is not just getting
some pictures on paper or canvas. It is a way of thinking. If the
child’s thinking improves, his drawing will also become better.
Here are two questions and answers…
Why is the school only for 3 – 13 years old children?
Creative persons never bother about the end results of their work. They never think about failures. Just they do their work. Work itself is a pleasure to them. The great leaders from all religions said the same. In 3 – 13 years age, children are also like this. They never think about the end results of what they do. That’s why creativity can be improved easily at this age.
What we are doing to achieve this?
To achieve this, we designed our syllabus based on child psychology and the science of creativity with drawing & painting. Our syllabus makes children to struggle to do their work on their own. But they enjoy this struggle. In this struggle they get used to observation, concentration and memory. They do drawing and painting in different ways. Because of this they won’t feel any monotony.
How our system will help children?
Our system will improve children’s knowledge absorbing levels. This absorbing
mind will help them in their education. It will make them not only creative but also analytical. That means using the whole brain, instead of using only a part of it. These creative and analytical thinking skills will make them the best in whatever career they choose. And moreover they become confident.
Some more about our system…
We don’t encourage our children for competitions. Competitions kill the children’s enthusiasm. Suppose one hundred children participate in a competition, how many of them get prizes? One…two…three…how many? Maximum it will be ten. What about the remaining children? When they don’t get the prizes automatically they began to feel that they are not that much good in that. It is the beginning of the ending.
Our approach with students is positive. We always praise them, that their work is very good. And we give them more work to do which they will do with more efforts. They don’t know that they are struggling to achieve results. Unknowingly they do it by more efforts with a lot of pleasure and confidence. Then they will grow.
And finally our school is having a large space with well trained staff, seems like a school to the children. But at the same time they don’t have any fear or restrictions which they experience in their schools. Here they feel free, at the same time they behave with complete discipline, which they invited on their own. That is the Creative Painting School achievement.

Our scientific system of Drawing & Painting Combined
with the 5 principles of developing intelligence,
will make children intelligent and Creative.
Work sheet - Age Group 5 plus years and above
(When children draw and paint,
our system will help them to think about
what they are doing. Once they finish
their work, through this work sheet
they have to recall what they have done.
Answering this work sheet helps children to
understand what they have done in the class.
And moreover they have to think beyond what is visible.
This total process will develop their thinking
and understanding skills.
To achieve this we are introducing 5 principles.
These 5 principles
lead to Intelligence and Creativity which will help children in their education and career and protect
them from today’s mugging system of education.)
5 principles
1.Name of my picture ( Taking Decisions)
(Children have to put a name to the picture.
Naming something on their own, will lead them
to take the decisions on their own in their future acts.)
2.Related things or persons to this picture (Thinking about Multiple Options)
(Children have to mention a related subject here.
This act will make them see and think beyond what is visible.)
3.About my picture (Generating Ideas)
(Children have to write a few sentences about
the picture. This is more or less short story writing.
A story based on their own painting. This exercise
will make them visual and creative thinkers.)
4.How many Colors I used in this picture ? (Analytical Thinking)
(Children have to list the colors they used in the painting.
This act will help them to get the habit of
‘Reviewing things’. Imagine,
how much it helps in their career.)
5.How much time I worked on this ?( Time Management)
(Children have to mention how much time
they have taken to finish this work.
This exercise is aimed at giving an awareness of time.)
In every class, childrens work progress is personally monitered by Magunta Dayakar.

This system will be continued as long as children and parents want to continue. The standards of each set of classes will be higher. It will be like the school education, where standards rise every year even though subjects are same . With years of continuous practice children can become the best in creative art. Not only this but they can also be good at their education because of observation, concentration and thinking skills achieved through practicing Drawing & Painting.
